HYDROTEST FOR RUBBER EXPANSION JOINT PACKAGE CARRIED OUT FOR AN INMIMENT SUPPLY

Bikar Quality team recently performed the agreed hydrostatic test to the requested expansion joints.

During the same, the selected expansion joints were tested according to the FSA (Fluid Sealing Association) Guidelines. That means, they were tested up to 1.5 times over design pressure (10 minutes each).

In this specific project, we tested a 10% per item witnessed by external inspector, the rest was tested internally. This is a usual requirement for this kind of high demanding water projects

The scope of the test was the following:

·DN3000 (10bar)

·DN1400 (10bar)

·DN800 (15bar)

Once the test is successfully performed, the items design is finally approved and ready to be painted (if required) or packed in case of not having any kind of coating included.

Our clients are always more than welcome to see and check the performed test in order to validate with them the proposed design.

Due to the high number of expansion joints existing in this project, Bikar agreed to deliver the material in 5 partial deliveries. The main target of this strategy is to provide the most important material at site in the shortest period of time.

Now, more than ever during these difficult days, we do understand the flexibility should be a must for all of us (from client, through manufacturers till sub-suppliers).

The scope of this supply will be from DN200 to DN2300 (170 units).
