BIKAR EXPANSION JOINTS FOR DESALINATION PLANT IN AL JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA

Bikar will be the expansion joint supplier for the last desalination plant in Al Jubail, a city in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia’s Marafiq Power & Water Utility Company for Jubail & Yanbu, has awarded ACCIONA Agua, in consortium with the Saudi group, Bin Laden, the Build, Design and Commission contract of a seawater desalination plant . Its construction began few months ago, and it is planned to start operating at the end of 2014.

The production capacity of the plant will be 100.000 m3/d. and it will be in charge of providing water for the citizens of Al Jubail and some of the industrial complex located along the Persian Gulf Coast (potable & industrial uses).

TRADE MISION TO KSA ORGANISED BY THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF BILBAO

Bikar has been one of the participating companies of the KSA Trade Mission sponsored by The Chamber of Commerce of Bilbao.

It was a multisectorial Trade Mission comprising 11 companies. The visit was 4 days long, from the 13th to the 17th officially. As usually it began with a brief meeting at the Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Riyadh.

This business trip means the second one for the Area Sales Manager to KSA, strengthening Bikar position in the area.

MANUFACTURING OF REFRACTED METAL COMPENSATORS

It has delivered the first order of refracted metal compensators, which have been designed and manufactured by Bikar. The order consists of 4 pieces (DNs between 1100 and 1800 pieces), that will be mounted in the area of ​​sewage treatment (incineration) of a wastewater treatment plant.

These expansion joints work at very high temperatures (730 ° C – 900 ° C).
