Rubber expansion joints for Africa’s largest desalination plant, located in Morocco
The desalination plant, developed for Morocco’s National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), marks a turning point in the region’s water infrastructure. With a total production capacity of 838,500 m³/d, strategically distributed in a first phase of 559,000 m³/d and a second phase of 279,500 m³/d.
The plant is a key component in ensuring Morocco’s water supply, and its commissioning is projected for early 2027. This project has presented a technical and logistical challenge for BIKAR Expansion Joints due to the high volume of units and the demanding delivery deadlines. Following a rigorous manufacturing process.
