Custom packaging for the safe transport of BIKAR expansion joints

At BIKAR Expansion Joints, we don’t only manufacture expansion joints; we also ensure that every product reaches its final destination in perfect condition. To achieve this, we provide custom-made packaging specifically designed to protect each joint during transport, whether by sea, air or land.

At BIKAR we offer a comprehensive service to our clients, from the design phase, manufacturing, and no less important the packaging and shipping of the merchandise.

While we are not a packaging manufacturer, we design tailor-made wooden crates for each order, adapting them to the dimensions, quantity and configuration of the supplied joints. We can prepare a single crate for a large-diameter joint (such as DN 3200), or multi-unit configurations like 60 × DN 100 or 8 × DN 500, among many other combinations.

Key features of our packaging:

Custom wooden crates built according to international standards (ISPM-15 / HT), ensuring suitability for global shipments.

Internal supports and fastening systems designed to prevent movement and protect the bellows and flanges during transport.

Reinforced lower supports, allowing easy handling with forklift or crane.

Labelled hardware and accessories, with tie-rod fasteners clearly identified by joint reference.

Optional packing organized by plant lines or areas, helping the customer streamline installation and material handling on site.

Rubber expansion joints for one of the most important desalination plants in the UAE

Rubber expansion joints designed for one of the most important desalination plants currently in the United Arab Emirates.

This plant will be commissioned throughout 2026 with a capacity of over 350,000 m3/d.

This is a complex project and a new challenge for BIKAR Expansion Joints, given the large number of joints requested and the variety of types, combined with the design conditions and the required delivery time.

Both the quantity and types of joints were relevant aspects.

Rubber expansion joint package for a water treatment plant in the USA

At BIKAR, a manufacturer with over 40 years of experience and a presence in more than 45 countries, we supplied an expansion joint package for a water treatment plant in West Virginia, USA, reaffirming our predominantly international activity.

Models and delivery conditions:

Models: B-FLEX and BF-PPS, all in NBR.
Diameters: from DN 40 to DN 750.
Fluid: Process water with traces of oil.

B-FLEX: Design pressure up to 16 bar; test pressure up to 24 bar. Some units with tie rods.

BF-PPS: Design pressure up to 27 bar; test pressure up to 40.5 bar. All with tie rods.
High adaptability: NBR offers compatibility with organic traces and durability in moderate temperature ranges, ensuring process reliability.
