EXPANSION JOINTS SUPPLY FOR EUROPEAN CHP PLANT IN GERMANY

New design, manufacture and shipment of a major expansion joint package composed of rubber and metal joints for a combined cycle plant (CHP Plant) in Germany.

Once again, in record time, we have managed to manufacture and test a supply that requires significant technical complexity. As we have mentioned, the package consists of rubber and metal joints, especially the latter, with Ad-Hoc designs according to the customer’s needs.

These are Hinged and Gimbal type expansion joints, made up of two articulated bellows joined by an intermediate sleeve.

These expansion joints, in addition to allowing angular rotation along any plane, can absorb large lateral movements, depending on the length of the central sleeve.

Sizes: DN350-DN1200
Design pressure: Up to 29,2 Bar
Design temperature: Up to 330ºC
Medium: Low pressure steam/High pressure steam/Thermal Usage water
Designed and tested as per EJMA Standards 10th Edition

Our customized solutions and types of expansion joints

At Bikar we are experts in offering tailor-made solutions. Each project is almost a blank canvas on which we must design and manufacture, ensuring that our customer’s needs are met at every stage.

We are manufacturers of the three types of expansion joints that exist:

Fabric expansion joints: these are used in low pressure installations and with temperatures up to 1,200ºC. They are common in hot gas movement circuits. For their construction, we use the latest technology in the use of raw materials.

Metal expansion joints: they are used for high pressure and temperature processes, in conducting fluids which are usually corrosive or in dangerous processes. Austenitic, super-austenitic or even titanium stainless steels are commonly used for these types of joints.

Rubber expansion joints: they are commonly used for water circuits. The ones we manufacture atBikar have a versatility that allows us to make them in practically any size, from 1 ”to 160”, at pressures of up to 100bar and in all types of materials.

Our products are very versatile and, in most cases, are related to the Water sector. However, we are also present in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Chemical and Mining sectors, among others. We cover projects ranging from water desalination facilities for human consumption, to cooling circuits of power generation facilities, such as nuclear power plants, through pumping, catchments, etc.

New Supply of Rubber Expansion Joint Packs for Power Station in Europe

We have successfully designed, manufactured, tested and shipped our BF-PPS product directly from our facilities. This time we have done it for a Power Plant in Europe, as a customized solution, adapting to the needs of our client.

This model is the most innovative with more than 20 years of research in improving the design and manufacturing processes of rubber expansion joints. It is always manufactured with one-piece metallic flange and vulcanized to the rubber bellow.

On this occasion the main characteristics of the supply have been:

Design pressure: 6 bar
Bellows material: chlorobutyl
Flanges: carbon steel + special coating
DN 1200
DN 800

The expansion joints have been designed, as always, following the non-metallic expansion joints technical manual of the FSA (Fluid Sealing Association) Guidelines.
